SEPTEMBER 17, 2026 multi-stakeholder natural resources state-of-the-practice meeting
overview
The Ad-Hoc Industry Natural Resource Management Group is convening its "Multi-Stakeholder Natural Resource State-of-the-Practice Meeting" on September 17, 2026, in Washington, DC (with remote participation available).
This meeting is being held in cooperation with the Environmental Law Institute, The George Washington University Law School, The George Washington University Environmental and Energy Management Institute, and key federal, state and tribal trustees and industrial trade associations participating in the Group's Industry/Trustee NRD Standing Committee*. Our program will bring together industry leaders, policymakers, and experts to jointly review, examine and discuss prevailing natural resource-related policies and practices in the United States and internationally, as well as the needs and opportunities that lie ahead.
This program builds on a very successful State-of-the-Practice Meeting held last year in tandem with an Intergenerational Cross-Training Workshop, as well as prior Best Practice Approach Workshops, Natural Resources Symposia to provide attendees with the latest in law, science, economics, and policy from leading authorities. Participants will hear about ongoing activities and emerging outputs from several multi-stakeholder Working Groups that are developing new resources to assist practitioners in the public and private sectors concerning the conduct of natural resource damage assessment and restoration. For further information on these prior programs, see the "Symposia and Workshop" section of the Group's website here.
WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE
A wide set of professionals in private and public sectors will find this program to be of interest, including those in law, policy, environmental management and sustainability, risk minimization and more. We especially encourage those in corporate settings, government service, universities, conservation organizations, and think tanks to participate.
